The Silence of the Other
This is my first photographic project from the time that I understood photography would become my lifeboat. I could travel to my fantasy world or to my memories. My thoughts were there but my life was here. This project represents the coming of age in a foreign land. The images illustrate the despair of a society which was collapsing and spliting apart, finding no hope and yet keep looking for it. The protagonists are people who live in the margins, the people next door who ended up on the street, people who are trying to face life with as much dignity as they can, and others who find the strength to "live out of nowhere".
